As an event planner or production coordinator, purchasing hotel and conference internet can be a challenge. Sometimes, getting a quote can take days, and pricing can range from $10,000-$25,000 for a simple 15 Mbps hardline. Moreover, dealing with a new IT team at each event means new points of contact and inconsistency in results.
About a month before the event, Remote Solutions contacted Copano Media Group to provide their staff with conference internet at the downtown Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas. The goal was to connect two Zoom laptops with a 20 MB hardline connection for a multi-camera stream. Each laptop had to not only send out video but also receive video from remote guests.
Because of the stream's importance and reliance on cell service, Copano Media Group set up two networks: one for the primary laptop and another for the secondary laptop. This was done to avoid any loss in a dropped connection that would ultimately end the Zoom meeting.
Each network relied on bonding cellular data to create an unbreakable connection. Network one (primary) relied on six cell connections, and network two (backup) relied on three connections. Network speeds for uploads were roughly 30 Mbps to 40 Mbps, and download speeds ranged from 60 Mbps to 70 Mbps.
As a vendor for Remote Solutions, Copano Media Group was able to save their client many thousands of dollars in hotel internet fees, as well as make streaming possible. In addition to these outcomes, Copano Media Group provided a service far superior to what the Hyatt Regency could offer at a much better value to the customer.
